Biggest Loser Wannabee's: February 2010

Welcome to the Wannabee's Weight Loss Challenge. Wannabee's are the best kinda losers. Losing weight and hopefully winning some cash at the same time, what's better than that. Hopefully the cash will be a motivator, but your health should be the most important thing. Remember eating healthy is most important added to a regular workout program.
Post your thoughts, struggles, or any tid bit of info that can help or destroy your competitors. But please be gentle and kind. LOL. Please post your weight on every Tuesday, starting January 5th and ending 3 months at the final episode of "Biggest Loser" 2010.
Blog on any experiences, struggles or revelations you want to share over the previous week. If you want to post your goal weight, that is fine too. This will let your competitors know where they are at in this weight loss challenge, and maybe to help you know where you are at and what you need to do next. Fat Loss Tip of the Day!!

Use light mayonnaise or the fat-free variety instead of regular mayo to save several grams of fat per serving

Cut the butter and margarine from your diet. Use apple, pumpkin, or other fruit butters on bread instead.

Chill soups, gravies, and stews in the refrigerator, then skim the fat off the top.

One or two meals a week, substitute beans or legumes for meat in salads

Drink 1% milk or skim milk instead of whole milk - this saves you 6 grams of fat or more per glass.

Cut meat portions from 6 oz to 3 oz. This saves you 9g of fat for beef, pork, and lamb, and 5g of fat for chicken

The egg yolk contains most of the fat and cholesterol in the egg. Use egg substitutes or only eat the egg white.

When baking, use applesauce instead of butter to save 90 calories.
